By winning the Scotts Turf Builder 300 at the Bristol Motor Speed Saturday afternoon, Kevin Harvick (Chevrolet No 33) not only put an end to a 27 race winless streak in the Nationwide series but also won a NNS race for the first time driving one of his own cars.
Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) led the most laps and was poised for a victory but at his last pit stop, as the Harvick crew made a great adjustment to his Chevy, the Busch crew let a tire roll away so, as a penalty, Kyle had to restart at the end of the lead lap. He ended up 6th but came out of the car and left the track very mad!
Points leader Carl Edwards (Ford No 60) finished second (that was his 13 top five finish in a row in the NNS) closely followed by 2008 champ Clint Bowyer (Chevy No 29).
Matt Kenseth replaced Greg Biffle at the wheel of the No 16 Ford and finished fourth just in front of surprising rookie Justin Allgaier (Dodge No 12). Ten times the 300-lap race was slowed by a caution flag (for 62 laps) while nine leaders exchanged the top spot 17 times.
NASCAR's Nationwide drivers will be back in action on April 4 at the Texas International Speedway.
