Polesitter Max Gresham won the NASCAR K&N East Series event, the New England 125, on Friday, at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

It is a second win this season and a fourth career victory for Gresham who leads the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East's championship.

But the outcome of the race could have been otherwise, when most of the lead cars pitted on Lap 48.

Aa miscommunication between Gresham, his crew chief and his spotter caused the Joe Gibbs Racing development driver to stay out a lap longer. This meant Gresham restarted 21st and had to work his way through the field.

Gresham took the lead from runner-up Brett Moffitt on Lap 113 and pulled away over the closing laps.

Corey LaJoie finished third, followed by fellow rookie Brandon Gdovic and Benny Gordon who completed the top-5.

Things did not go very well for Canadian Andrew Ranger as he finished a distant 33rd. He was involved in an accident after one of his tire exploded, sending his car into the wall.

Gresham has now a point lead of more than 94 over Moffitt, who moved to second in the standing. DiBenedetto dropped to third in points, 125 behind.
