The Basha's Supermarkets 200 Nationwide race run Friday evening at the one-mile Phoenix International Speedway seemed to belong to pole sitter and series leader Carl Edwards (Ford No 60) but, after leading some 79 laps of the race, the engine of his Roush-Fenway Ford went sour and he had to call it quits.

That allowed his teammate Greg Biffle (Ford No 16) to take the lead and keep it to the very end, leading 106 of the 200 laps at an average speed of 92.967 mph.

Biffle won by staying on the track when two yellow flags were thrown with less than 20 laps to go making a green-white-checkered necessary.

Following Biffle at the checkered was Jason Lefler (Camry No 38), Brad Keselowski (Chevy No 88), Joey Logano (Camry No 20) and Kevin Harvick (Chevy No 33).

Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) had early problems and, though he caught backtwo laps, he could not do better than a 10th place at the finish.

Canadian D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 81) ended up 23rd, two laps down.

There were nine yellow flag situations for 43 laps and six lead changes between five leaders.

This victory by Biffle marks the 100th win by a Roush-Fenway driver in the Nationwide Series.

The new championship leader is Kyle Busch with 47 points over Carl Edwards.

The Nationwide Series returns next Saturday, at the Talladega Superspeedway.
