Canadian Patrick Carpentier will be back behind the wheel of a NASCAR car next weekend as he will drive the Toyota No.7 of SK Motorsports during the Nationwide event the Diamond Hill Playwood 200 in Richmond.
Carpentier, who will be back for the first time since he was let go by Gillett-Everham Racing at the end of the 2008 Sprint Cup season last year, will replace regular driver David Green who will be Carpentier's spotter for this event.
It will be a second visit for Carpentier at Darlington and the former ChampCar and IRL driver loves the circuit's layout.
Last year, he even led the race a couple of times while at the wheel of the No.10 Dodge but, unfortunately, the engine exploded on lap 262.
Carpentier's manager, Robert Desrosiers, says that negotiations are underway and if the proper sponsorship is found, his protégé could drive full time.
