According to some serious rumours, NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs hinted at teenage sensation, 18-year old Joey Logano as the leading candidate to replace Tony Stewart next year in the Sprint Cup series.

Following the announcement of Tony Stewart's departure from the Gibbs team at the end of the year to join Haas Racing, Joe Gibbs told reporters that Logano has tested in Sprint Cup cars extensively and hinted at him being ready to replace Stewart in 2009.

Team boss Gibbs declared that despite his young age, Logano has already performed 32 tests behind the wheel of a Sprint Cup car.
