In what can be considered a first in NASCAR, a collaboration of F6, Saudi-based company, and leading racing team, namely Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) have agreed to join forces in a marketing agreement.
After F6 issued a press release about the exclusive marketing deal, Foster Gillett, son of RPM owner, George Gillett, issued a clarification in a statement.
"Foster Gillett has confirmed there are no major ownership changes contemplated at Richard Petty Motorsports," said in the statement adding "the Gilletts are the majority owners of Richard Petty Motorsports and plan on being so for a long time."
While most of the agreement dealt with the Liverpool FC, a British professional soccer team, the agreement may mean exportation of the NASCAR-philosophy to the Middle East and East North Africa, including Richard Petty Driving Schools in that region.
F6, a leading Saudi Arabia-based sports management firm founded and led by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Fahad bin Abdullah Al Saud, and George Gillett, the co-owner of Liverpool FC and Richard Petty Motorsports, have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will activate an exclusive commercial collaboration between F6 and both Liverpool FC and the Richard Petty NASCAR Team.
His Highness Prince Faisal bin Fahad bin Abdullah Al Saud commented, in a statement, "George Gillett is at the helm of some of the most powerful and celebrated sports brands in the world.
