A year after the debut of the redesigned 7 Series full-size sedan, BMW will use a shorter version of its platform to launch the all-new 5 Series, which is expected to go on sale next spring.
The seventh generation of the midsize executive sedan will continue to offer 4-, 6-, and 8-cylinder engines with direct injection and turbocharging. A plug-in hybrid variant is also planned.
More importantly, BMW promises a number of advanced safety and semi-autonomous driving technologies such as a steering and lane control assistant, which increases comfort and peace of mind on the highway.
