Underneath the hood, a v6 engine with 300 horsepower supported by an automatic transmission, 6 speed automatic with manual mode mounted on a new longer and larger deck with enhanced performance control giving a sports-car like feel when driving.
Not to be outdone, Saleen also revealed some of its wild things at the auto show. A Dan Gurney mustang for example ( only 300 of which will be available) pays tribute to the driver who will sign each one of the available models. Possessing more than 500 horse power it als0260-horsepower and 550 lb.-ft of torque under its hood. But the new discovery from Saleen, is the Raptor S5S, a two-seater super car destined to replace the ageing S7. With its 650 horse power motor the Raptor should be able to go from 0 to 100kph in about3.2 seconds.
No decisions have been made however, about the eventual production of this vehicle, leaving its future to be decided by the reaction of the media and the buyer.
And finally, the Korean manufacturer Kia, after revealing the revised version of the Kia Optima (Magentis in Canada), also showed the Kia Coup a concept car close to production. A little car, with lines similar to Japanese sports cars, with a 4 cylinder motor and 290 horse power seats four people comfortably. It has some impressive features and a unique dashboard. It hasn't been officially announced as going into production however.
