Nissan Canada has just donated 70 laptop computers, 128 office computers and 136 monitors, worth over $70,000 in all, to World Computer Exchange, an international non-profit organization. Nissan's donation will benefit not only students and orphanage residents in a developing African country but the environment as well, as the computer equipment will not be ending up in dump somewhere.
This decision fits with Nissans' Green Program 2010, which has three main environmental goals: reducing carbon dioxide emissions, reducing other emissions and accelerating recycling efforts.
Ten volunteers from World Computer Exchange Canada were on site to help with training and networking. Thanks to Nissan Canada's generosity, 7,500 additional young Africans will now have access to the Internet. Nissan Canada and World Computer Exchange have proven that partnerships can indeed achieve great things.
