Infiniti Continues Roll with 18 Consecutive Sales Record Months

Nissan, including its premium division Infiniti, has been the automaker to watch since the launch of its current generation Altima sedan, spearheading what can only be described as a complete dual brand makeover.

Spearheaded by the Altima and most recently followed up by the all-new Maxima (shown), the last few years have seen Nissan release a myriad of new models completely making over its brand image. (Photo: Trevor Hofmann, Canadian Auto Press)

The myriad of new models the Japanese company has delivered to market in recent years has kept automotive publications in a tailspin to keep up, and justifiably caused Nissan's global and Canadian sales to multiply exponentially.

One of the only models not to get the redo until its July 2003 launch was the Quest minivan, but now, during the first full month of the revolutionary van's availability, NCI (Nissan Canada) has delivered 305 units, a total that has helped to push Nissan Division's August sales up by more than 800 units compared to August 2002 sales, to total at 5,188 units sold.

Altogether NCI's calendar year-to-date sales have achieved an 11.1 percent increase over the same period in 2002, for a total of 46,881 units sold - an increase of 4,691 cars and SUVs.

While such growth is amazing, especially considering domestic manufacturers are steadily falling behind despite deep and profit-reducing incentives, calendar year-to-date Infiniti sales are up an astounding 38.8 percent to 6,014 units sold.
