Nissan revealed new information about its ESFLOW concept, a 100-percent electric vehicle inspired from the brand's past and current sports cars. The idea is to bust the myth that sacrifices must be made to save one's environmental conscience.

The rear-wheel drive two-seater uses the same battery pack as the Nissan LEAF along with two electric motors placed above the axis of the rear wheels, in a mid-ship position. These motors independently control the left and right wheels. Torque is optimized to ensure outstanding vehicle stability and control as well as efficient power regeneration. The car reaches 100 km/h in under 5 seconds and offers a range of about 240 kilometres.

The ESFLOW is built on an aluminum chassis with integrated power cells. Unobtrusive roll bars are incorporated into the structure behind the seats, negating the need for thick, reinforced A-pillars that impede visibility.

Said seats are sculpted into the rear bulkhead, eliminating the use of a heavy frame and other internal components that add weight to the car. This of course means that they are immobile, but occupants can still sit comfortably thanks to fly-by-wire steering and pedals that adjust electrically to the best spot in order to suit each individual driver's size and preferred driving position.

The Nissan ESFLOW concept will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show (March 3-13).
