Roy Hulsbergen had a dream. As an enthusiastic fan of the Monaco Grand Prix, he started in 1994 collecting information, stats, texts, photos and videos available about the prestigious Formula 1 event.
The massive information was then classified, digitalised and posted on the web. "The project aims to provide an honest educational site, a memory, interesting for young persons to access information about the origins and past events of the Grand Prix de Monaco and for older people to relive previous experiences and refresh their memories," said Hulsbergen.
The site is also meant as a place where motor sport enthusiasts can exchange information and add to the contents, as if it was a live library.
The Monaco Grand Prix Library sets out to bring together the most complete information on all the Monaco Grands Prix from 1929 in video, photo and words. The video section is particularly impressive.
"The site is basically non-profit and depending on donations and sponsors," added Hulsbergen.
