Last Friday, Volkswagen AG announced a recall on approximately 1.1 million vehicles around the world due to a problem with the suspension. Affected models include the 2011-2013 Jetta and Beetle.
In some cases, one of the rear suspension links may break during a light collision with a stationary object or another vehicle, affecting handling and increasing the risk of a more severe crash.
The recall involves 126,000 units in Canada, 442,265 in the U.S., and 581,090 in China.
