Performance automaker Porsche yesterday introduced a gorgeous new 19-inch wheel design exclusively for their 911 Turbo.
The new RS Spyder wheel and pays homage to the RS Spyder racing car with a nearly identical appearance. The RS Spyder recently won all titles in the American Le Mans Series for the third time in a row, as well as topping its class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It brought home the winner's title in the European Le Mans Series as well. If there's a race-car for Porsche fans to commemorate in their daily commute, this is it.
The nineteen inch wheel features seven U-shaped double spokes and is mounted to the owner's car with a special central locking system similar to that found in race-cars. One central bolt fixes the wheel firmly to the wheel bearing- which itself uses special spring-loaded security bolts to prevent theft.
Porsche says the new wheel style will be optionally available on their 911 Turbo models in January.
A pre-order in time for Christmas would make the Porsche fanatic on your list a great present.
