GM seems transformed compared to just one year ago. What happened?

Actually, the chance started about 3 years ago, when Rick Wagoner and Bob Lutz decided to focus on design and to address quality shortcomings. We now offer a 5-year/160,000 km powertrain warranty. In addition, we're putting the emphasis on our Green concept, offering a diversified range of eco-friendly products.

Marc Comeau, right, at the Montreal Auto Show.
I'm thinking of your presentation last year in Detroit, as the company only launched big trucks and announced price cuts. We felt that the morale was low at GM. Today, with car and truck of the year, the Volt, the new Malibu... the optimism seems to have returned.

We're number one in China, and our sales have increased 20 to 30 percent in Latin America, so last year was a good one for us.

Since his arrival, Bob Lutz established a new discipline at GM, and we now take the necessary time to do things right. We're going to get back the sales we lost in the last years.

We're seeing several new products for Chevrolet, Saturn, Buick, Cadillac and GMC. What should we expect from Pontiac, and will they also get hybrid models?

Yes. Pontiac will get new products next year, and that division has a promising future, despite certain rumors. Pontiac will also get hybrid vehicles.
