“I have to learn a bit more to be as fast as Antoine (L'Estage) and Pat (Richard). But I'm learning something new every day. Next year, I plan to compete in certain rallies in the U.S. Obviously, my ultimate goal is to compete one day in the World Rally Championship,” Leo added.

A sort of rallycross track was designed on the grounds of the Autodrome, using part of the road course and gravel access roads. Surprisingly, I found Leo's driving style to be relatively smooth. I honestly expected him to be quite hard on the car, just like Tom McGeer. Leo seems to have a good feeling for the weight transfer under braking and cornering. In fact, he's driving more like a road racer than a purebred rally driver.

The work of the co-driver is complicated by the fact that he/she needs to read the notes to his colleague while also watching the road. The seat of the co-driver is also bolted right down to the bottom of the car, so you see more of the dashboard than the road ahead! The suspension has a huge travel and is very soft on landings, contrary to common belief. Travelling sideways with the four wheels spinning madly with mud flying everywhere is quite entertaining!
