Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) champion Andreas Mikkelsen, diagnosed with a perforated eardrum after his crash at the Circuit of Ireland, was deemed fit enough to leave hospital.
Saturday, his high speed crash on the Lisburn street stage only costed him his shot at victory – the Norwegian driver even carried on with the rest of the rally, finishing second.
Only afterwards did he report feeling unwell.
Sunday he was released from hospital after spending the night in observation.
The Scoda UK driver still leads the IRC standings.
