South Africa and Brazil, which were candidates to enter the World Rally Championship next season, should not be retained.
Autosport magazine reveals that following a meeting between FIA president Jean Todt and WRC officials the 2013 WRC championship would be only made of existing events with the exception of the usual switch between Australia and New Zealand every year.
South Africa and Brazil will have to wait until 2014 to have a chance to be part of the World Rally Championship.
The 2013 calendar should be validated during the next meeting of the World Motorsport Council to be held later this week end.
There is still a disagreement between the WRC commission of the FIA and the WRC events' organizers, who refuse to pay an extra 100 000 euros (around 130 000 canadian dollars) to enter next year’s calendar.
Moreover, the name of the new promoter of the WRC should be released during this week's meeting.
