Local favourite Steeve Hobbs and his co-driver Jean-Mathieu Tremblay had the best of their teammates Craig Henderson and co-driver Lyne Murphy to gain a third victory this season in Quebec’s Rally Championship.

The Saguenay Rally was the third race of the 2011 season. Fifteen teams tried to show their potential on the previously cleaned roads with Hobbs finally closing up the challenge with his Subaru Impreza WRX.

Defending champion Simon Dubé was the winner of the Jon Nichols Cup in Saguenay. His performance was particularly impressive considering the fact that his Golf GTI was not the most powerful car on track this weekend.

Sylvain Bazinet and David Legault also took a third victory in as many races this year in the Quebec Cup division of the championship. They were driving a Honda Civic SIR.

The next event in the 2011 calendar of Quebec’s Rally Championship is scheduled for August 13, in Lac-aux-Sables. There will then be only one event left in the season.
