Frenchman Sebastien Ogier had a nasty crash Thursday in his Skoda Fabia S2000 during SS10 of the Rally Montye Carlo, opening round of this year's World Rally Championship.
SS10 ran from Lamastre to Gilhoc to Alboussière and was 21.66 km long.
Sebastien Ogier was very impressive early in the event as the conditions were extremely slippery. However, the road was dry when his Skoda hit a very small and low concrete wall at the apex of a corner Ogier took flat out in 6th gear. The car was launched in a frightening roll.
"We took a cut, which threw the car across the road. We hit a barrier and spun into the trees, and I hit a tree in my door. I made myself small like a ball, but my arm hit something. Maybe the elbow bone has chipped, but it will be fixed next week," said Julien Ingrassia, Ogier's co-driver.
