The luxury SUV segment was virtually invented by Land Rover, some 50 years ago, with the introduction of the Range Rover. Now the automaker innovates once more, with the unveiling at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show of a new genre-defining vehicle, the world’s first full-size luxury SUV coupe. Meet the limited-edition Range Rover SV Coupe.
Created jointly by Land Rover Design and Special Vehicle Operations, the new SV Coupe sports a seductive frame wrapped around a highly luxurious interior. Plus it demonstrates undeniable and unsurprising prowess on all types of road and off-road surfaces.
That luxurious interior – leather front seats with unique quilt design, panoramic roof, soft-touch materials – is also highly personalizable, through the available interior colours, wood veneers and the like. In fact, buyers will be able to choose from between seven available design packs (ranging from Modernist to Heritage) that touch on both exterior and interior elements such as paint colours, bespoke badges and interior materials.

Luxurious it may be, but the new model also has the power and performance chops you would expect and might insist on from a coupe: a 5.0L supercharged V8 delivers 557 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, and the SUV’s 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.3 seconds and 265-km/h top speed make it the fastest full-size SUV ever made.
Production worldwide will be capped at only 999 units. Oh, and the starting price for Canadians itching to get their hands on one? $335,000. The limited-edition Land Rover SV Coupe should be available to consumers not deterred by this price tag this coming fall.
