Business has never been better at Rolls-Royce, as they’ve just announced record sales during the first half of 2011. Global sales have increased by 64 percent compared to the same period in 2010, and the company states significant growth in all regions, but especially in Asia Pacific.
From January to June 2011, Rolls-Royce delivered 1,592 cars. The recent introduction of the smaller, cheaper—uh, we mean less expensive—Ghost sedan helps, as 80 percent of the car’s buyers are new to the English luxury brand. 2011 also marks the Spirit of Ecstasy’s 100th-year anniversary.
To celebrate the centenary of the Flying Lady, Rolls-Royce created the Phantom Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary Collection. A batch of 100 special cars feature exclusive colours, wood veneers and leather options as well as a silver-cast hood ornament and special badging.
Owners also receive a polished steel Spirit of Ecstasy desk ornament mounted on a piano black base. Whoopee.
