7 — 1953 Chevrolet 210 Deluxe
The cars offered up at the RM Sotheby’s auction in Hershey come from all over. Several are part of private collections that are being liquidated, for example. As a result you get vehicles from all periods.
This year there were fewer more-recent models on hand, which make this 1953 Chevrolet stand out even more. Maintained in its original state since it was bought new in Ohio, it was repainted only once over the decades.
As the value of 1950s-vintage cars has been on the decline recently, the lucky buyer was able to walk off with this Chevy for only $11,000.
8 — 1938 Packard Twelve Touring Cabriolet by Brunn
Cars from independent automaker Packard are actually common currency on the classic-car market. These works of art on wheels were made in different configurations and prices can vary wildly.
Made by Brunn for the 1938 model-year, this model’s production run was only 4 units. That year the monster was equipped with a 473.3-cc V12 engine making 175 hp and torque that was, according to the company, very generous.
The car sold for $110,000, before fees.
