The Wigwam Motel was part of a chain at the time. There are only two such establishments left on Route 66

This Nash Airflyte is a very rare model. While we applaud the idea of decorating the space in front of every teepee with a great antique car, it’s still sad to find such a rare model in this place and state - it certainly deserves a better fate.

This 1957 Ford sits shaded beneath a roof adjacent to the main building. That spot originally was occupied by a giant teepee flanked by two smaller ones that served as toilets. Unfortunately, these buildings were demolished to make way for a more modern and functional building.

Inside the office, a museum containing artifacts related to Chester E. Lewis has been set up and is open to the public.
