When satellite radio started to appear in our cars, two big players, Sirius and XM, fought to corner their share of the new market, then later decided to join forces. This induced several changes that made navigation and searching for channels pretty complicated. Hair Nation, for instance, was accessible on Sirius 23 or XM 44.
But as of today that’s all a thing of the past: all those channels will become part of one homogenous lineup. Hair Nation will now be found on channel 39, for instance. Luckily for current clients, their pre-selections should be updated automatically.
Music channels will now occupy the lower digits while sports and information channels will be found from 84 on, mimicking Sirius’s current system.
If you’re a bit baffled by these changes, check out XM's web site.
