A study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that six out of seven Americans, or approximately 85 percent, now use their seat belt when they hit the road.

While it may seem low, the number actually keeps increasing year after year. In 2008, 81 percent of drivers buckled up, and way back in 1982, a mere 11 percent did the same.

That's quite an improvement!
