Javier Villa races this weekend at a track where all drivers want to shine: Spa Francorchamps.

The famous Belgian track comes back to the GP2 schedule to host the penultimate race weekend of the season and the last in conjunction with a F1 grand prix this year.

The fact that last year the GP2 series didn't visit the track located in the Ardennes forest means that Villa's challenge from Friday will be even bigger than usual as he will need to learn the track as soon as possible as this will be his first experience at the Belgian circuit.

That will make the 30 minutes of free practice Friday morning especially crucial, when everything will need to be working properly to allow the Spaniard as much tracktime as possible. This is something that hasn't been possible in the last two events, seriously compromising his chances for the whole weekend.

Villa totally relies on the work of his race engineer Andrew Ferguson and the whole of the Racing Engineering team to provide him with a car both reliable and competitive so that he can quickly get on grips with a track that's not at all easy for a newcomer to master.

To drive as fast as possible through the impressive Raidillon, to guess the optimum braking point at Les Combes or to find the best lines though Pouhon or the daunting Blanchimont, require everything to be perfectly in place so that the driver can build up his confidence. For Javi driving at Spa is a challenge he's already looking forward to, he knows that shining at the Belgian track is very important as this is a place where driver skills can make a real difference.
