Frenchman Tristan Vautier did not repeat his winning performance of yesterday as he could not do better than third place in the second race of the Star Mazda series in Trois-Rivieres on Sunday.

Fourteen drivers took the start of the race held under grey skies. The winner of Saturday's race, Vautier, took the green from pole position.

He immediately pulled a significant leader over his pursuers. The battle raged for second place, involving J.V. Horto, Nick Andries and Connor De Phillippi.

Andries found a way past Horto for second place and began to close the gap on Vautier.

On lap 21, Vautier, Andries and De Phillippi ran together at the front. De Phillippi put intense pressure on leader Vautier. On lap 30, he managed to slip by him. And on lap 35, Andries also motored in front of Vautier.

Connor De Phillippi captured victory in front of Nick Andries and Tristan Vautier.

Horto finished in fourth ahead of Sage Karan and Gustavo Menezes. Canadian Jerimy Daniel crossed the line in 10th place.
