A few days prior, taking advantage of another opportunity to put a GM vehicle in front of fans of one of the world's most influential musicians, GM showed off its Brian Wilson-inspired 2005 Cadillac XLR on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at a Los Angeles dealership, Martin Cadillac, where Wilson first met his wife Melinda. GM isn't the only automaker to sponsor major events, but it seems to have found a way to make sure that its cars are prominently featured at the most visible productions. Last year Pontiac gave new G6 sedans to every audience member on Oprah Winfrey's number one rated daily program, making headlines across the globe, and during President Bushes fully televised inauguration it was a custom Cadillac DTS limousine that delivered the world's most powerful man to make his celebratory speech.
