Interested Canadians are out of luck, since for now anyways Lucid plans to market the new variant only south of the border, not north of it.

Lucid Motors has expanded its electric utility lineup with the debut of the Gravity GT-S during Monterey Car Week in California. Positioned as the highest-performance variant in the family, Lucid claims the GT-S with its 1,070-hp output is America’s most powerful three-row SUV, borrowing performance engineering and design cues from the flagship Air Sapphire sedan.

The GT-S replaces the previously offered, ultra-limited Dream Edition as a permanent, regular-production trim, with another attractive quality: it’s priced much cheaper. Though for Canadians, that’s all moot, since for now anyways Lucid plans to market the new variant only south of the border, not north of it.

Powertrain of the Lucid Gravity GT-S

The Gravity GT-S uses a dual-motor electric powertrain generating a monstrous 1,070 hp. That output can propel the 7-passenger SUV from 0 to 96 km/h (0–60 mph) in just 3.1 seconds. To manage that level of performance, the GT-S comes standard with a three-chamber air suspension system that automatically lowers the ride height at higher speeds, along with independent rear-wheel steering for improved maneuverability.

Visually, the new model establishes its own identity with distinctive blue exterior accents and blue-painted brake calipers. The cabin receives matching treatment, featuring blue seatbelts, blue contrast stitching on the seats, armrests, and steering wheel, as well as the Sapphire line’s signature bear emblem embossed into the headrests.

Lucid Gravity GT-S – Availability

While the Gravity Touring (560 hp) and Grand Touring (828 hp) are available in Canada, Lucid has indicated that the new GT-S variant will remain exclusive to the U.S. market, where it carries a starting price of $125,900 USD (with some pricing estimates reaching up to $127,750 depending on final destination configurations). Canadian buyers will continue to choose between the Touring at $113,500 CAD and the Grand Touring at $139,500 CAD.
