Unlike Hot Wheels, which builds 1:64 scale replicas of famous cars, Tamiya chose to create a life-size version of its popular toy car as part of Japan Cup Mini 4WD 2015.
This functional Aero Avante is equipped with a 1.6L engine – instead of running on AA batteries – and can reach speeds of 180 km/h.
This isn’t a first for Tamiya, however. The company previously built the Wild Willy Jeep and the Beetle-based Sand Scorcher.
