Pontiac sees itself as General Motors' sporty division. Thus you have the Grand Am coupe displaying a flashy, attention-grabbing body, with conspicuous protective side panel trim, for example.
This car was completely remodeled last year, not only in styling but in mechanics, as its predecessor left a lot to be desired. The suspension in particular has been upgraded to provide a more comfortable ride. All in all, the new Grand Am arrives with substantial improvements.
Like the exterior, the interior style is flamboyant throughout. The dashboard is curvaceous and lit up like a Christmas tree. You either hate it or love it.
As for the engines, they've retained those that powered the former Grand Am, which is a 24 litre, 4-cylinder for the base model and a 3.4-litre V6, which is optional, or standard on the more expensive model. It should be noted that these two engines are rather noisy when accelerating.
