Since the Malibu won't be as well-equipped as the Vectra, it won't have all of the goodies that the more upscale European model does. But a lot of the stuff that's built into the chassis will certainly make the oceanic crossing and end up wearing that bowtie.
Indeed, it's probably fair to say that -- in general -- the Epsilon architecture is over-engineered for the Malibu as its current customers want it.
I would be surprised, however, if any of the people in the market for a high-value mid-size sedan are offended because they're getting more car for their money.
