The WTCC, the World Touring Car Championship of the FIA, is still in good health and popular despite the recent loss of several works teams of car manufacturers, especially Seat and BMW.

Denmark-based Hartmann Racing confirmed their plans to take part in a couple of events with their Honda Accord Euro R cars, one of them driven by British touring car ace James Thompson.

The Danish team is due to take part in the WTCC events at Monza and Brands Hatch and they are currently in negotiations with a few experienced drivers for their second Accord car.

Team Sunred Engineering could increase its involvement. The team has been running privateer Tom Coronel for years and could enter up to four Seat Leon Tdi raced by the works team in 2009.

Coronel could lead the effort and may be joined by Michal Nykjaer, two-time Super Touring European champion.

Sunred Engineering could also welcome reigning WTCC champion Gabriele Tarquini who was left without a drive when Seat pulled out of the sport.

RBM team recently tested a BMW 320si run by Bart Mampaey with Brazilian youngster Augusto Farfus and triple WTCC champion Andy Priaulx behind the wheel.

Chevrolet should enter two Cruze LT cars for 2008 world champion Yvan Muller and Robert Huff.

Finally, Adrian Campos Jr, son of new F1 team owner Adrian Campos Sr, recently tested a BMW of team Proteam. Campos Jr is expected to contest the WTCC in 2010 alongside Stefano d'Aste.

The 2010 will begin in exactly 37 days, March 5 to 7 in Curitiba, Brazil.
