8 – Ford Model T – 16.5 million
Sooner or later the long-departed Ford Model T will disappear from the top 10 chart, but it won’t be forgotten. This car designed for the masses was the standard setter for that kind of vehicle. It took 20 years for it to hit the 16.5-million-unit mark for sales.
The Model T was “only” in production from late 1908 through 1927, and it’s incredible really that it still figures on this ranking, some 92 years later. On its head the crown of top-selling vehicle of all time continued to until the early 1970s – when the Model T was finally overtaken by a little car you may heard of called the Volkswagen Beetle.
