3. Cadillac Escalade
Though it is based on the Tahoe/Yukon and the Suburban/Yukon XL, the Cadillac Escalade full-size SUV deserves to be considered apart, if only for its unique design that’s miles away from GM’s other SUVs. Created in 1998 as a competitor to the Lincoln Navigator, the model had humble beginnings before recently staking its position as one of Cadillac’s most popular vehicles. Available in two wheelbases – the base model and the extended-length ESV – the Escalade, the 6.2L V8 of which produces up to 420 HP, can haul RVs weighing up to 8,300 lbs (with the rear-wheel drive version).
