J.D. Power and Associates just published the results of its 13th annual Navigation Usage and Satisfaction Study dealing with automakers’ factory-installed systems.
The study, which polled 18,303 owners who bought or leased 2011 model-year cars equipped with a navigation system, found that owners experienced an average of 351 problems per 100 navigation systems.
A full third of the issues reported are related to ease-of-use.
According to J.D. Power and Associates, “the trend towards integrating the controls of different systems in the vehicle, including audio, climate control and phone, only adds to the ease-of-use issues that owners experience with their navigation system.”
Here are the top 10 navigation systems ranked by vehicle model:
Interestingly (or not), the Toyota RAV-4, Lincoln MKX, Volvo XC90, Jaguar XJ, and Mercedes-Benz M-Class and GL-Class are at the back of the pack.
