After gaining fame as the least-expensive new car in Canada with a base price under $10,000, it got the attention of Jacques Deshaies who decided to launch a brand new series featuring exclusively race-prepared Micras. The inaugural Nissan Micra Cup championship proved to be quite popular due to the car’s affordability and parity between drivers.
