To the folks at C&D, the cherry on the cake of the much-lauded new-generation Corvette is that it is a bargain. But not just that, it’s a performance bargain. Bang for bucks. No other car or SUV can match it for that combination of quality, thrills and affordability.

This is the Corvette’s 23rd appearance on Car and Driver’s annual list, by the way.

What C&D liked:

- Price point, which is frankly stunning since the Corvette delivers essentially a supercar driving experience
- Sheer quickness (it’s quicker, in fact than Porsche’s Boxster and Cayman, also on this list for 2022)
- On the upper trim levels, the interior is mighty special
- Surprisingly roomy rear trunk
- Sharp steering
- Awesome braking power
- Surprisingly quiet inside (with the roof in place of course)
