3 – Ford Escape
Here’s another model that has racked up impressive sales despite its aging carapace. Since the start of the year, the 2019 Escape has attracted 24,451 buyers in Canada. This is a model with undeniable qualities, but just as undeniable faults. On the one hand the drive is dynamic, but on the other its fuel-consumption performance is mediocre.
In any event, it’s time to start forgetting about the aging current generation, as the totally revised next-gen 2020 Ford Escape is just around the corner – in fact we just had occasion to test-drive it for the first time.
We can expect the 2020 Escape to nip if not bite hard at the heels of the CR-V in terms of sales in 2020…

“There’s a wild card, and it’s perhaps the ace up the Escape’s sleeve: the three-cylinder EcoBoost with cylinder deactivation… I can say that when around town and so forth, you really don’t need much more zippiness from your CUV than what’s on tap here.”
