Honda Civic DX $17,890 (plus $1,770 transport and preparation)
The best-selling car in Canada this year and for what seem like the past century can actually be had for under $20,000. For that of course you have to stick to the base model and stay away from too many options, but still you get a decent set of standard equipment. Meanwhile the naturally aspirated engine of the Civic is really capable, unlike the turbo engine.
Once again, the Civic comes at base with a manual gearbox, but know that in this case, that unit is one of the best in the business. For those ready to learn the art of driving with three pedals, the Civic DX sedan is hard to beat.
From our review:
“… there’s little fault to find with the Civic, which of course is why it continues to raign at the top of the Canadian car sales chart. It’s a car that drives beautifully even if it’s not particularly exciting. The other big plus of the Civic is its pricing, and it’s telling that other manufacturers struggle mightily to put together a car with so many positive elements within a price structure such as this."
