2021 Acura TLX Type S

All indications are that the next Acura TLX will be decidedly more capable on the road than its predecessor. Not that the current TLX is bad, it just lacks that spark that would help create more concern among segment leaders. Work on the chassis and a new twin-turbo V6 engine should contribute to kindling more passion among driving enthusiasts for this long-awaited return of the Type S badge.

2021 Nissan 400Z

One of the oldest new cars on the market right now is a Nissan. The 370Z was launched in 2009, which explains the slightly archaic driving experience it delivers. Given the economic and financial turmoil Nissan is currently embroiled in, adding a niche sports car is certainly not the brand's priority right now. But for Nissan's reputation, the rebirth of the mythical Z is necessary.

The Infiniti Q60's twin-turbo V6 engine should be the unit designated to power the 400Z, and it's likely buyers will still have the choice between a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. As for the design, it's rumoured that the next Z will be largely inspired by the original 240Z. It looks promising!

2022 Ford Fusion Active

The Dearborn-based automotive giant has abandoned the traditional car in North America, except for the Mustang and the Fusion, which will remain for a few more months. However, it seems Ford’s decision-makers want to tackle the Subaru Outback with an elevated wagon based on the Ford Mondeo.

It's important to remember that the Ford Focus Active was originally supposed to cross the Atlantic, but that project finally fell through. This Fusion Active could make things right and bring a so-called Ford “car” back to the continent, even though it’s as much a wagon-utility mix as anything.
