For the next generation of Mazda likeable four-door, we can expect a sedan that's a lot less expressive than the 2017 Vision Coupe prototype that previewed. That said, the integration of an inline-6 engine under the long hood of the next Mazda6 should change the game for the small manufacturer's mid-size sedan, especially in terms of architecture. The Mazda6 would switch from a front-wheel drive configuration to a rear-wheel drive arrangement.

In principle, it should arrive in 2022 as a 2023 model.
