Lexus LS 400 (1990 – 2000)

The fact of having owned a Toyota Cressida for four years explains in part my attraction to the very first Lexus car. As it happened, in 2019, a brief trip to Costa Rica led me to discover an immaculate example of the 1990 LS 400. The car in question belonged to the manufacturer's private collection and this all-too-brief test drive proved memorable on all levels, not least because the car, despite being 30 years old, drove like new.
Quiet, solid, comfortable, the LS 400 belongs to a class of cars that is on the way out.
