Mercedes-Benz premieres SLR McLaren Roadster and M-Class Edition 10 at Toronto Auto Show
The SLR McLaren has always been fast, expensive and exclusive. Now, a topless version of the SLR raises the bar even higher.
The Roadster shares the same powertrain as the coupe, a hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged V8 that generates 617 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 5-speed automatic with manual mode.
The fully-retractable top is available in three different colors and features a semi-automatic operation; it requires unlatching from the windshield, and then an electric motor takes care of the rest, folding the top in under 10 seconds.
Just like the SLK-Class Edition 10 model presented at the Montreal Auto Show, the limited-run M-Class Edition 10 gets individually-numbered badging and a special equipment package.
