Subaru launches 2009 Forester at Toronto Auto Show
According to Subaru, the third-generation Forester is more comfortable, more refined, and more dynamic, while receiving a more SUV-like shape.
On sale this spring, the new model features a longer wheelbase, which improves rear-seat legroom. The rear suspension is all-new, and the body of the Forester is stiffer. Subaru claims a reduction in noise, vibration and harshness.
Once again, a choice of two engines will be offered: a 170-hp 2.5-liter flat-four, and a 224-hp, turbocharged/intercooled version of the same unit. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic with manual mode.
The new Forester gets a host of safety features including, of course, all-wheel drive.
