After several years of absence, a new series for touring cars will be introduced to Quebec racing fans in 2011.

The new Touring Cup Quebec, ruled by the Motor Sports Quebec Federation (FSAQ), will be open to all four-places car of less than 12-years of age, sold in Canada with engine of less than 2.8 litres for 6 cylinders maximum (250hp).

Eligible cars could will be Acura RSX, Acura Integra R, Audi A4, Audi TT, BMW 325 (E36, E46), Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Dodge SRT-4, Honda Civic Si, Mazda RX-8, Mazda Protégé, Mazda 3, MINI Cooper S, Scion tC, Toyota Echo, Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen GTI, Beetle and Jetta. Any other car that fits the series requirements could be added to this list.

One or two drivers will be allowed to register for one car. During the double-headers 'Sprint' races, each driver of a duo-team will have to run one race. For longer 'Feature' races, points will be allowed for every hour in the event.

A GPS system will be used in each car to register all car performances, which will then be released to all competitors after each race. This system was successfully used in FIA GT1, GT3 and World Touring Car last year.

Tires will be 'spec' for street driving. They will be both durable and offer maximum performances while ensuring even chances for all drivers. They were selected to favour a driver's talent over the performance of his machine.

To ensure the series remain more affordable than ever, there will be limitations to car modifications. The weight of the car will be measure with a coefficient of its engine power.

The series will be non-lucrative with sponsors' money redistributed amongst the field to reduce inscription fees.
