Toyota's all-new and highly anticipated fuel cell sedan — the world's first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle — will be called “Mirai,” which means “future” in Japanese. The official launch will take place on Tuesday in Tokyo, the company announced in a video.

The Mirai offers a range of about 480 kilometres on a single tank of hydrogen, can be refuelled in under five minutes and emits only water vapour. It's been tested in extreme weather conditions both hot and cold.

Japan will be the first market to sell the Toyota Mirai, for approx. 7 million yens (equal to just under $68,000). The U.S. and Europe will follow next summer.
