Toyota is doling out good news since the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan on March 11, affecting most of its production operations. Beginning in June, overall North American production will reach approximately 70 percent of normal levels.
The Toyota Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Sequoia, Sienna and Venza will all return to 100 percent production, while the Toyota RAV4 and Lexus RX 350 will increase to 25 and 60 percent, respectively.
Overall, that's an improvement from approximately 30 percent in May. The increase in parts availability from Japan mainly explains the significant ramp-up.
