The Ford Focus Electric isn't the most common electric city car found on the market, but nonetheless – and maybe even because of its scarcity - CBB found it retains its value longer than its rivals. Despite a pedestrian estimated range of 120 km, the zero-emission Focus sells for a higher percentage of its original cost than even a luxury car like BMW's i3.

The CBB also liked the fact that the electric Focus doesn't differ much visually from gasoline-powered versions.

Like the Honda Fit in the sub-compact car class, the HR-V impressive cargo space that splaces it ahead of all rivals in its category. The famed "Magic Seat", meanwhile, is one of the most attractive features available in the category.

As for Honda's reputation for reliability and durability, that’s set in cement after all these years. We will see in the coming years if the HR-V manages to retain its top spot here, as the small urban crossover segment has grown considerably since 2016.
